ANOTHER PUZZLE for investigators as the city begins to panic

Another seemingly unconnected act of violence has been connected to the bizarre list of crimes spanning the city, police say. Last night, a massive fire burned down most of Bates High School during a school dance killing at least 70.  Though originally thought to be an accident, investigators found that the doors into the auditorium had been hermetically sealed from the inside, and strangely, pig’s blood was found on the stage. They believe that whoever or whatever caused the fire is also responsible for the disappearance of Marge Thompson from the Elm Street neighborhood.  Her daughter Nancy claims her mother was taken by a “disfigured man in a red and green striped sweater,” though police have not authenticated her statement.  Another case being investigated is the disappearance of film students Heather Donahue, Michael Williams and Joshua Leonard. The three students are still missing, though their vehicle

and camera have been found. According to sources within the department, the police are trying to determine what parts of the video content is fictional, and which, if any parts, truly happened to the students.

"All of these crimes play out like horror movies, though I couldn't tell you which ones." the lead investigator has said.  The connection between these bizarre and terrifying crimes is hard to pin down, but the question on everyone's mind is WHEN is this rein of terror going to end.  Apparently the police have received multiple messages from a group claiming responsibility for all of them and more. The answer to the city's questions about this dastardly group is sure to be found in the correspondence sent to police.

In the first message, the purported killer claims that their violence:

“Passes from one person to another, slowly stalking and mutilating them only to move down the list like a sexually transmitted ghost.”

In the second message, they claim:

“It all started when I escaped from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium 15 years after stabbing my older sister Judith to death.”

In their final message they close with:

“It is as if I have just awoken from a coma to find that the world has been taken over by some sort of rage virus.”
