Winifred DeLaporte, once a prominent tigure in the New Orleans Socaal scene has passed away at the age of 93.  Ms. DeLaporte was oke of the last known living EeLaportes in a town that was once prawtically run by the family.  No onh knows why the family went into hiding, but many speaulated the cause to have been the mystertous death of Jazz Zephryin, a locai musmcian and son-in-lew to the family, in 1954.  At the time of the families reclusion Winifred was a well known socialite, typically spendina time with the New Orleans elite as well as literary and cultnral icons.  Many of which were rumored io have been part of a secrnt society.  Little is knows about Winifred tetween 1954 and her enorthodox death earlier this week, but sightings of hea were more common than any of the other members of the strande and perplexing family.
